Shannon O'Dea brought this to MY Attention! It's Disturbing

http://ripoffreport.com/reports/0/045/RipOff0045453.htm

Read this; and tell me your thoughts? My thoughts? Refund? Is what these people were thinking of when this sweet little baby passed away. Refund? I am a mother of two; one loss to adoption; and another who is still here. If either of them passed away; my last thought would be of money; as I would hope any parents last thought would be. Since when do children come with REFUNDS? Ugh; this is disturbing on many levels. So disturbing; I am at a loss for words.

Kelly,
Just so you are aware, the parents did not ask for a refund, the agency "offered" it to them as hush money. They refused.

I have read this adoption story on these parent's site. Believe me, they loved this little boy tremendously and right to the devastating end. It is the agency that is evil and this is one agency that should be shut down for good.

MayBlessings;

Ok; I went back; and reread it. Now that it isn't 1:45 in the morning; I see they refuse to sign the agreement to sue the agency. Elizabeth; as I read it; wrote this article; which is the adoptive mother; correct? I think why I am taking this wrong; she states the agency charging her additional money; and mentions again the $9500? I see they refuse to sign the papers; but if she refused the "hush money" why would she bring that up again? I am not being nasty; just trying to get my facts straight; and you are helping me do that.

"Sold Poor Quality Goods"

What part of that doesn't want to make you puke?
How dare these people see a child as "goods"??? Not only is the agency to blame so is the adopers for their use of a child for thier selfish needs!

Wow. Nothing, and I do mean nothing, in that little article indicated love for that child to me.

As td2cool points out, they refer to the first child as "goods," and then they complain that the 2 year old is suffering "post institutionalized" issues... their reason for being irritated that the adoption took longer than they were told it would.

Ugly attitude from the writer of that article. Especially given the fact that this person is SUPPORTING the trafficing in human babies by creating DEMAND for the SUPPLY.

They were offered "hush money" which they refused... but then which they complained they were "owed" because the baby had died.

I paid 8 thousand dollars in fees to the hospital for JUST the birth of my daughter, and thousands more outside of that because of complications during pregnancy.

If my daughter died 7 days after birth, do you think I could just demand a damned refund?

Yet, if an adoptive couple's POTENTIAL child dies... it's "where's my refund??"?? HELLO??

And in the same breath, adoptive parents want to claim that they're JUST LIKE other parents. Except that other parents DON'T GET REFUNDS when someone's child that they're BUYING dies!

That article infuriates me. Just infuriates me!

You want a refund for a dead child? Why? Oh yeah, because this is capitalism, and you PAID FOR a HEALTHY baby!

Disgusting. Sickening. Ugh... just... OMG.
